On the morning of June 23rd, 2024, in Hai Phong city, the working groups of the Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee, led by Vice Chairman of the Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee Tran Phuoc Hien, worked with leaders of the Hai Phong Economic Zone Authority on the development and management of industrial parks and economic zones. Mr. Le Trung Kien, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Chairman of the Hai Phong Economic Zone Authority, worked with the delegation.

According to the report of the Hai Phong Economic Zone Authority (HEZA), HEZA has attracted 784 projects with a total capital of more than 38 billion USD, including 561 FDI projects with a total investment capital of more than 24 billion USD and 223 domestic projects with a total investment capital estimated at nearly 14 billion USD. From 2021 until now, Hai Phong has been one of the leading localities in the country in attracting foreign investment capital in the field of industrial production. Total attraction reached more than 12 billion USD, making Hai Phong one of the top 3 localities leading the country in attracting FDI for 3 consecutive years.

After more than 27 years of establishment, Dung Quat Economic Zone in Quang Ngai province has made remarkable progress. It's considered one of the most pioneering and successful economic zones in the country. It is an industrial production center, the nucleus of growth, and the driving force for economic and social development in Quang Ngai province and the Central Key Economic Region. Dung Quat Economic Zone and Quang Ngai Industrial Parks Authority has attracted 349 investment projects, with a total registered investment capital of about 18.37 billion USD. Currently, 256 projects are operating in stable production and business. Of these, there are 195 industrial production projects that have contributed to promoting industrial production value. If industrial production value reached 1,034 billion VND in 2004, it will exceed 121 trillion VND by 2023, a 117-fold growth from 2004.

Leaders of HEZA shared experiences on specific mechanisms and policies for city development including investment model, infrastructure management of economic zones and industrial parks, specific support mechanisms and policies of Hai Phong Economic Zone. Implement a pilot conversion of traditional industrial parks to eco-industrial park models in DEEP C and Nam Cau Kien industrial parks, towards a circular economy model. Hai Phong currently has 14 established industrial parks with a scale of more than 6,100 hectares, of which 11 industrial parks have been put into operation. Among the 11 industrial parks that have been put into operation, there are 02 industrial parks that are proposing to transform towards eco-industrial parks, including: Dinh Vu Industrial Park and Nam Cau Kien Industrial Park.

Tran Phuoc Hien, Vice Chairman of the Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee, complimented Hai Phong City on making significant progress in socioeconomic development. Quang Ngai province highly appreciates the valuable experiences that Hai Phong city has shared, especially in the fields of infrastructure planning, investment attraction, environmental management, training and resource development, improving labor quality, thereby enhancing the competitiveness of the economic zone. These experiences help Quang Ngai manage and develop economic zones, adding to the province's long-term development goals.  We hope that the cooperative relationship between the two localities will become increasingly stronger, contributing to promoting the socio-economic development of the two localities.

Prior to that, the group toured industrial parks, significant projects, and the city's international gateway port area to gain insight into their realities.
