National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man attends the Groundbreaking Ceremony of VSIP II Quang Ngai Industrial Park

A member of the Politburo, Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man, attended the ground-breaking ceremony of the VSIP II Quang Ngai Industrial Park Infrastructure Investment and Construction Project (VSIP II Quang Ngai Industrial Park Project). This event is part of a series of activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Ba To Uprising (March 11, 1945 - March 11, 2025) and the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Quang Ngai Province (March 24, 1975 - March 24, 2025).

The project's groundbreaking ceremony was placed in Binh Hiep commune (Binh Son) on the morning of March 12. The ceremony was also attended by Politburo member, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh; Party Central Committee member, Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quang Phuong—Vice Chairman of the National Assembly; Party Central Committee member, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Vu Hong Thanh; Party Central Committee members; leaders of central departments, ministries, and branches; and representatives of provincial and city leaders.

In its ten years of operation, VSIP Quang Ngai Industrial Park has attracted 44 projects from nations including the United States, Japan, Thailand, Belgium, China, Singapore, and others, with a total investment capital of more than 1.5 billion USD, creating over 40 thousand jobs. VSIP II Quang Ngai Industrial Park is Quang Ngai's second VSIP-branded project.

The Prime Minister approved the VSIP II Quang Ngai Industrial Park Project by Decision 1664/QD-TTg on December 22, 2023. The project covers almost 500 hectares and costs nearly 3,800 billion VND. It is being carried out in Binh Thanh and Binh Hiep communes (Binh Son). This is an investment project to build an industrial park that combines green, smart, and sustainable development characteristics, and it is projected to increase momentum in attracting investors to Quang Ngai. Automobile manufacture, textiles, food processing, beverages, processing, manufacturing, and so on are among the industries with the highest investment potential.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Nguyen Hoang Giang, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, stated that the investment, construction, and operation of the VSIP II Quang Ngai Industrial Park project will significantly contribute to the province's economic and social development. Specifically, providing clean land funds in the industrial park to attract secondary investment projects, assisting the province in promoting and calling for investment projects, particularly FDI projects with advanced, modern, and environmentally friendly technology; Contributing to the industrialization and modernization of the province, diversify industries, access modern technology and advanced management skills of developed countries, significantly contribute to the process of international economic integration through import and export activities, solve the problem of employment for local workers, improve people's living standards, and contribute to the provincial budget.

Mr. Nguyen Hoang Giang stressed that Quang Ngai prioritizes attracting investment and enhancing competitiveness in the province's socioeconomic development. The province promotes attracting projects in the following sectors: supporting industries, green industries, environmentally friendly industries, urban infrastructure, tourism, services, and social housing.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Politburo member and Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh praised the efforts of local authorities at all levels, as well as the widespread participation of residents in the project region. At the same time, he praised domestic and foreign investment firms, particularly Singaporean enterprises in Vietnam, for their contributions to the success and development of VSIP Quang Ngai.

At the same time, it makes a significant contribution to making the bilateral investment and business cooperation relationship more effective and comprehensive, as well as deepening the cooperative relationship between the government, people, and business community of Vietnam and Singapore," said Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh.

In order for the VSIP II Quang Ngai Industrial Park Project to be implemented on schedule and achieve the expected results, the Deputy Prime Minister requested Sembcorp and Becamex Groups to continue to promote the effectiveness of the model of industrial parks, urban areas, and services; direct investment and development of VSIP II Quang Ngai Industrial Park in the direction of smart, modern, and sustainable industrial parks; and towards forming industrial-innovation-urban-service-high-tech ecosystems; Determining the industrialization process to ensure harmonious development with the community, infrastructure, and knowledge-based economic development for the area.

In addition, ministries and branches provide investors with proactive guidance on investment, construction, and environmental procedures, as well as conduct inspection and supervision work, thereby enabling investors to promptly resolve any challenges or issues that may arise during the project's implementation.

Quang Ngai has a comprehensive plan to continue assisting businesses in the completion of investment preparation and compensation for site clearance and resettlement in accordance with regulations. This plan ensures that individuals subject to resettlement have new, suitable, and superior housing compared to their previous homes, thereby ensuring the rights and livelihoods of the residents of the project area.

Simultaneously, he requested that VSIP Quang Ngai execute the project as soon as possible in accordance with the investment goals, assuring the desired quality and progress.

The Vietnamese government will continue to maintain a stable investment environment, promote administrative procedure reform, improve the legal system, and so on in order to create favorable conditions for foreign enterprises in general, and Singaporean enterprises in particular, to invest and conduct business in Vietnam.

At the ceremony, the Provincial People's Committee awarded certificates and investment memorandums of understanding to VSIP Quang Ngai investors. VSIP Quang Ngai leaders awarded scholarships to students in Binh Son district.
