Conference to offer proposals for the initiative to develop the Dung Quat Economic Zone by 2045.

On the afternoon of March 6, 2025, Dung Quat Economic Zone and Quang Ngai Industrial Parks (DEZA) met at the start of the year and presented ideas to design the project for developing Dung Quat Economic Zone through 2045. Mr. Tran Van Man, Chairman of DEZA and a member of the Provincial Party Committee, presided over the conference.

Mr. Le Quang Thich, Chairman of Quang Ngai province's Union of Science and Technology Associations, as well as representatives from a number of enterprises/investors in Dung Quat Economic Zone and Quang Ngai Industrial Parks, and reporters from news agencies, attended the conference.

Speaking at the opening of the conference, Mr. Man emphasized that the purpose of the conference is to exchange and discuss the situation of business operations and production in 2025, propose effective solutions to contribute to promoting double-digit economic growth in Quang Ngai province, and listen directly to the opinions of businesses/investors and experts on the draft outline of the project to develop Dung Quat Economic Zone toward 2045 after nearly 30 years of formation and development. Implementing this project is one of the most essential tasks for the economic zone's future development; therefore, it will require the determination and unity of the entire governmental system, as well as the effective cooperation of enterprises and investors.

On behalf of the Board's leaders, Mr. Nguyen Hai Truong—Deputy Head of the DEZA—reported on the investment and development situation of Dung Quat Economic Zone after nearly 30 years of formation and development, as well as the draft outline of the project. He stated that the project to develop Dung Quat Economic Zone is a strategic plan to build Dung Quat Economic Zone into a modern industrial, service, and logistics center; an economic driving force for the Central region and the whole country; connecting with other regions through the transportation and logistics system.

At the Conference, participants actively contributed ideas on tasks and solutions regarding: (1) Propose mechanisms and policies to create an attractive environment for attracting investment; (2) promote the completion of Dung Quat Economic Zone infrastructure; (3) develop high-quality human resources to meet future work requirements; (4) advance technological solutions to minimize environmental pollution; (5) mobilize resources to implement solutions; (6) support mechanisms for businesses to borrow capital to implement project upgrades and expansion; (7) promote site clearance to create clean land funds;

Concluding the conference, Mr. Man thanked the delegates for their attention and contributions of in-depth, comprehensive, and multi-dimensional opinions to the draft outline of the project, which is an important and rich source of practical data to help DEZA continue to perfect the project; requested the drafting team to absorb as much of the opinions contributed at the conference as possible, focusing on the contents that need to be implemented, ensuring the feasibility and effectiveness of the project after it is issued.
