Chairman of the Quang Ngai Provincial People’s Committee Meets with SABECO

On the morning of September 8, Chairman of the Quang Ngai Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Tam chaired a meeting with the Saigon Beer – Alcohol – Beverage Corporation (SABECO) and Saigon – Quang Ngai Beer Joint Stock Company to review their production and business performance during the first eight months of 2026 and discuss plans for the coming period. The meeting was attended by Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Tran Phuoc Hien, along with leaders of relevant provincial departments, agencies and localities.

The Saigon – Quang Ngai Beer Factory project was invested in by SABECO in 2005, with an initial production capacity of 100 million liters per year. Construction of the factory began in 2009, and the facility commenced operations at the end of 2010. In 2020, the factory was expanded, increasing its production capacity to 250 million liters of beer per year. During the first eight months of 2026, the company produced more than 98.6 million liters of beer, achieving over 88% of its annual target, with estimated export turnover reaching USD 1.84 million.

In addition to its production and business activities, the company is implementing the Commercial, Service and Leasing Center project, with a total investment of VND 288.4 billion. The investment is expected to be adjusted to more than VND 300 billion due to rising material and labor costs. Construction of the project began in June 2026, and the completed work volume is currently estimated at 30%. The basic construction phase is expected to be completed by March 2027.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Tam acknowledged and highly appreciated the production and business results of Saigon – Quang Ngai Beer Joint Stock Company, as well as its contributions to the provincial budget over the past period. The company is one of the industrial enterprises playing an active role in the province’s socio-economic development, particularly through its contributions to the provincial budget and the creation of employment opportunities for local workers.

To continue accompanying and supporting the company in the coming period, the Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee requested relevant departments, agencies, units and local authorities to proactively coordinate with and support the company in its production and business activities, promptly addressing difficulties and obstacles within their jurisdiction. For matters beyond their authority, they were asked to proactively advise the Provincial People’s Committee for consideration and direction.

The Chairman also requested Saigon – Quang Ngai Beer Joint Stock Company to focus its resources and maximize the factory’s production capacity to ensure sufficient supply for the market. At the same time, he called on SABECO to provide support and guidance to the company in improving its productivity and operational efficiency.

Regarding the Commercial, Service and Leasing Center project, the Chairman requested the company to proactively coordinate with relevant departments, agencies and local authorities to fully and seriously implement the directions of the Provincial People’s Committee. He urged the company to expedite implementation and complete the project as soon as possible, ensuring the project stays on schedule and achieves its intended investment efficiency.

The Chairman affirmed that the province will continue to accompany, support and create favorable conditions for businesses to maintain stable operations and promote production and business development, thereby making positive contributions to the province’s overall development.

Speaking at the meeting, representatives of SABECO expressed their appreciation for the attention, partnership and support provided by the Provincial People’s Committee over the past period. The corporation also committed to mobilizing resources to implement and complete the Commercial, Service and Leasing Center project according to the established schedule.

The company will continue to accompany the province in joint events and activities. It will also proactively coordinate with commercial partners to connect service, tourism, restaurant and hotel networks, expand the market, and increase the coverage of its products across the province.
